What The HOA Does With Your Annual Fees

If you live in a neighborhood where association fees are due each year, you are probably fortunate enough to be in a neighborhood that is well maintained. No-one likes paying that yearly fee, but they would also complain a whole lot more if the neighborhood that they paid so much to get into was allowed to simply waste away. It is usually easy to look around and see where you money is being spent, but there are some things that might go unnoticed, but which are actually a big part of what the HOA does for the community. One of the biggest tasks that the HOA has to take care of is maintaining the street signs that are used throughout the neighborhood. These are the types of things that tend to be forgotten about by the residents until such times as a visitor or emergency crews cannot find their home because the street signs are damaged or are missing. It’s only then that you begin to see what an essential role they play in making sure that the neighborhood is not only nice to look at, but also easy to navigate. Many neighborhoods, even high-end neighborhoods, have poor-quality street signs that do not age well. Wooden signs can break, lean, or even begin to rot and cheap metal signs can rust, fade, or tilt, forcing the HOA to consider a street sign replacement project. Usually before replacement takes place, the HOA will look and see if street sign repair is an option. There are obvious circumstances where this isn’t possible, such as when a sign has been vandalized, severely damage, or just completely stolen. Repair and replacement are some of the most common street sign issues that the HOA has to face, but it’s not the only thing. Most neighborhoods that fall under the watch of an HOA have a list of rules that places certain restrictions on how certain things should look or be decorated. The goal is not to make every home look the same, but rather to avoid those folks that think a pink and yellow striped house might give their domicile a unique look. Just a few of those types of houses can give the neighborhood something of a black mark, which is why the rules are put in place for everyone to follow. What all of that means is that the street signs, mailboxes, and other decorative parts of the neighborhood will have a specific look that fits the overall aesthetic of the community. Custom street signs can help lend an air of sophistication to a community. Decorative street signs really add curb appeal to neighborhoods. It’s all part of making the neighborhood look great for everyone that lives there, as well as making visitors a little envious every time they drive through. Those street signs will help the visitors remember the name of the place that they saw and loved the look of.
