FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

-How does this maintenance program work? The terms of the Southampton mailbox maintenance plan are below, but the short version is that you complete the "order" by clicking the mailbox picture link below, supply as much info as you can, and prepare for our team to reach out and diagnose your system. Our team will need pictures of your mailbox in it's current state so they can properly diagnose what maintenance is needed.

WHEN WILL MY MAILBOX BE INSTALLED?
Our typical lead time for the installation is 7-10 business days, depending on weather & 811 services.

WHAT SHOULD CUSTOMERS DO IF THEY HAVE SPRINKLERS OR LOW VOLTAGE LINES AROUND THEIR MAILBOX?
Customers are responsible for notifying us if they have sprinklers and/or low-voltage (non-811) lines around their mailbox. 811 services will not mark for these and we will not be held liable for any damages to sprinkler systems or low-voltage (non-811) lines around the MB system.

SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT THE LANDSCAPING SURROUNDING MY MAILBOX?
Any landscaping or decorative rocks around the mailbox unit (and/or the new install location if system is being moved) must be cleared in advance. We are not responsible for landscaping and require a minimum of a 1.5' radius around the dig point, in which to work. If the installer arrives on site and is unable to complete the work, the customer will be assessed a non-refundable "trip charge", in addition to the installation price.

-Do you install with concrete? All mailboxes installed by Addresses of Distinction are installed using concrete. We warranty all installations for a period of one year, protecting against defects. When your mailbox is installed, please wait 24 hours before applying pressure to the post, as it takes some time for the concrete to fully cure.

-What is covered under our mailbox maintenance program? Here are the terms for your plan:

Our community wide mailbox maintenance program covers the following: Vandalism? COVERED. Hit by car?** COVERED. Worrying about keeping mailboxes in compliance? COVERED. Cleaning? COVERED.

  • Our technicians complete 2 inspections and subsequent repairs each year (no more mailbox violation letters!)
  • Parts and Labor included
  • Includes 2 scheduled mailbox washing using microfiber cloths and special cleaning solution designed for our powder-coated finish. (Spring and Fall)
  • Mailbox damaged between scheduled visits – That’s covered! Just complete the order through this page, give us a call at 800-436-1647, or shoot us an email at support@aodmailboxes.com.

Our community wide mailbox maintenance program does NOT fully cover the following:

  • Damage to powder coating from lawn equipment hitting the bottom of the mailbox systems.
  • Damage to the powder coating from pet waste

(While not often, we realize the items listed above do happen. The maintenance plan covers up to 5 repairs, per year, that experience issues due to the items listed above. After 5 repairs, any additional repairs needed will be charged at a rate of $39 per mailbox. To repair the damage above we will clean, sand, and paint using an oil-based paint (full replacement of post/base, when related to pet waste or landscaping, is not included).

In the event of vandalism, a police report must be filed. A copy of the report must be provided to AOD before services are rendered. (We do this to help prevent future vandalism)

**In the event a commercial driver/company hits and damages the mailbox, the company will be required to pay for the damage. This plan covers all homeowners and guests of homeowners.

Is anything NOT covered under this plan?

  • Mailboxes damaged by commercial drivers/companies- the company that caused the damage is required to pay for the damage they caused.
  • Limitations: Damage caused by landscaping equipment or dog urine, the support team will recognize this damage from photos you send in when making these claims. Our agreement includes only 5 repairs at no cost from these types of claims per year. Each request after the 5th will be charged to the homeowner at $39 per mailbox. So please avoid damaging your new mailboxes with the weed wacker and discourage your pets from these behaviors. The agreed upon repairs for these claims are to clean, sand and repaint the base using an oil based paint. Full Replacement of the decorative base is not included with these claims.
  • Any Vandalism Support Claims must also be accompanied by a police report in order to receive coverage for the claim.

What information will I need to complete my maintenance request?

  • Name of our community
  • Homeowner's Name, Contact Information and Address
  • Quick Type up of what caused the damage to the mailbox.
  • Pictures of the damaged mailbox (we will collect these when we contact you, after you've completed the "order" through this page) -  To get the quickest service, please take a full survey of the damaged mailbox and take multiple pictures of the damaged components. We will need up close, clear pictures of all the damaged items on the mailbox and a full picture of the whole mailbox in order to best diagnose what parts will need to be sent out with our service member.

Once a repair is submitted to Customer Service, all non-emergency maintenance repairs shall be handled within 7-10 days weather permitting.  If you have a true emergency (i.e. you cannot receive mail due to missing or destroyed mailbox), please discuss with customer service and we will do our best to get out before the 7-10 day timeframe.

Do I need to be home when they service my mailbox? No! If necessary, our service member will move any mail that is in your current mailbox system over to the new one.

WHAT IF I HAVE A BRICK/STUCCON/NON-TRADITIONAL SYSTEM, OR MY MAILBOX SYSTEM IS INSTALLED IN A SURFACE BESIDES GRASS/DIRT, SUCH AS CONCRETE?
-Be sure to contact AOD and let the support team know of your situation. Depending on the situation, we can assist for an additional fee, or direct you on how to get your mailbox area prepared for an AOD Mailbox Installation.
