This page features the official mailbox for the Brandon Hall community, the Addresses of Distinction Charleston Mailbox System (Standard MB, Plate 1, 2" WB Numbers. This page is designed for you to replace your existing mailbox with one of our  Charleston Mailbox System. Installation includes the removal and disposal of the old mailbox system.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DOES SOMEONE NEED TO BE HOME DURING INSTALLATION? 
No one is required to be home during the installation process. If you have any special requests, please notify us beforehand by emailing support@aodmailboxes.com.

WHEN WILL MY MAILBOX BE INSTALLED? 
Our typical lead time for the installation is 7-10 business days, depending on weather & 811 services.

WHAT SHOULD CUSTOMERS DO IF THEY HAVE SPRINKLERS OR LOW VOLTAGE LINES AROUND THEIR MAILBOX?
Customers are responsible for notifying us if they have sprinklers and/or low-voltage (non-811) lines around their mailbox. 811 services will not mark for these and we will not be held liable for any damages to sprinkler systems or low-voltage (non-811) lines around the MB system.

SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT THE LANDSCAPING SURROUNDING MY MAILBOX? 
Any landscaping or decorative rocks around the mailbox unit (and/or the new install location if system is being moved) must be cleared in advance. We are not responsible for landscaping and require a minimum of a 1.5' radius around the dig point, in which to work. If the installer arrives on site and is unable to complete the work, the customer will be assessed a non-refundable "trip charge", in addition to the installation price.

DO YOU INSTALL WITH CONCRETE? 
All mailboxes installed by Addresses of Distinction are installed using concrete. We warranty all installations for a period of one year. When your mailbox is installed, please wait 24 hours before applying pressure to the post, as it takes some time for the concrete to fully cure.

DO YOU OFFER A WARRANTY? 
Yes. We warranty all of our products against manufacturing or workmanship defects for one year. Click this link for more info.

WHY REPLACE YOUR MAILBOX? 
- Not only will new mailboxes increase the overall curb appeal of the community, but a survey of real estate agents have shown that a standardized mailbox design can increase the value of your home by up to 7% when combined with the new street signs. The mailbox is one of the first impressions of the property. A clean and classy look will instill confidence in an agent to market a property at a higher value, as well as give a good first impression to potential buyers. The standardization also puts an expectation on each homeowner to provide adequate upkeep of their mailbox which in turn will protect home values within the community.

- The new mailboxes will be very low maintenance. They are constructed with rust free aluminum components with the exception of the box which will be made from a stainless steel. All components have a rich black powder coated finish using the same quality of powder that companies like John Deere, Caterpillar, and other industrial tractor companies use. This coating seals the product and keeps water and other elements out. This means all that is required is a simple cleaning once or twice a year to keep your investment looking great.

WHAT IF I HAVE A BRICK/STUCCON/NON-TRADITIONAL SYSTEM, OR MY MAILBOX SYSTEM IS INSTALLED IN A SURFACE BESIDES GRASS/DIRT, SUCH AS CONCRETE? 
-Be sure to contact AOD and let the support team know of your situation. Depending on the situation, we can assist for an additional fee, or direct you on how to get your mailbox area prepared for an AOD Mailbox Installation.

What happens to my old mailbox?

  • We will remove, and dispose, your existing mailbox system.
  • We remove the mailbox system in the safest, then fastest, way possible. Sometimes this entails us breaking the current system.
  • We do not separate individual parts for residents to keep. If you would like to keep any portion of your existing mailbox, we will leave every part at the job site.
  • You must alert a member of the support team in advance. Please note that we will still remove the MB system in the safest and fastest way possible, which means some components may be damaged or broken in the process. If you wish to keep any portion, we will leave every part at the job site, and cannot move things to a secondary location.

Where will my mailbox be installed?

  • We will install your mailbox system in the same location as your current mailbox system.
  • If you wish to move your MB system to a new location, you must alert support in advance. You must also provide a picture showing a stake/indicator in the newly proposed location so we can assess and complete 811.
  • We will install as close to the newly proposed location as possible, without going outside of USPS standards
  • There will be an extra fee for us to relocate a mailbox system.
